What we do with your email address.

Who we are

Bad Bounce & Co is a free weekly email about golf, written by Dan from West Sussex.

What we collect

Your email address when you sign up, and your first name if you give it.

Resend, the service that sends the email, records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, as nearly every newsletter service does. We look at those numbers on our own computer to see what gets read.

If you use the contact form, we get what you type and the email address you give. It arrives in our mailbox like any other email and stays there.

The website sets no cookies. It counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which keeps nothing that identifies you: just the page, the site you came from, and your country, browser and type of device, so we can see what gets read.

Why, and the legal basis

To send you the newsletter you asked for. The basis is your consent: you type your address in, then confirm it from the email we send you (double opt-in). We note when you signed up and when you confirmed, so we can show you asked. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every issue.

Where it is kept

On Resend’s systems. Resend is a US company. Your details may be kept in the US, under the contract terms the UK recognises for sending data abroad. Their privacy policy is at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

We also keep a copy of the list on our own computer, as a backup.

We do not sell, rent or swap the list, and nobody else gets it.

How long

Until you unsubscribe. After that your address stays on a suppression list so we do not email you again by mistake.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. Email the contact address; we answer within a month.

Children

The newsletter is not aimed at anyone under 16. If a child has signed up, email us and we will remove the address.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the newsletter will say so.

The small print

Bad Bounce & Co is free and written in our spare time. What we write is our opinion. Links go to other people’s websites, which we do not control. Check green fees and opening times before you travel on our say-so. Nothing here is advice.

Everything on the site and in the emails is © Bad Bounce & Co unless credited to someone else, and the photographs are credited where they appear. These pages are governed by the law of England and Wales.

This page is written in plain English rather than by a lawyer. If something here is wrong or unclear, tell us and we will fix it.
